The phrase Cyber Monday refers to the Monday, which immediately follows Black Friday. Black Friday is actually the ceremonial kick-off of the holiday online shopping season in the United States between Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Whereas Black Friday is associated with traditional sales, “Cyber Monday” denotes a busy day for internet online retailers. The logic behind Cyber Monday was that consumers would return to their offices after the Black Friday weekend, and make those purchases online that they were not able to make in stores, due to the crowd in the retail shops. After the weekend when they return to their offices on Monday, then they continue with their online shopping from there.
